Who has an LD?

• Approximately 1 out of every 7 people in New York City have a learning disability

Did you know that these individuals are children, teenagers, and adults?  Learning issues don’t go away when a child graduates from high school, but public support for assistance programs almost completely disappears.  That’s why we need your help today.

What are we doing to help?

• LDA helps thousands of individuals and families each year who are struggling with learning issues.  And we provide that help in an extremely cost-effective way.  For years, we have been helping individuals and families through the LDA Telephone HelpLine, directing them to where they can get assistance.  But more and more, LDA has been creating direct service programming to help those with learning disabilities where resources simply don’t exist.  We serve families whose children and teenagers have disabilities, as well as adults who are struggling with the world of work, community, and relationships.

LDA is committed to providing cost-effective services to this often-neglected and ever-growing segment of our communities, but we need your contribution to help us make it all possible.  Your contribution will help:

• Enroll a teen in a vocational program or  help transition them to college
• Help a young adult get their GED certificate
• Support an adult in finding meaningful, sustainable employment
